  • Compost: Nutrient-rich organic material used to improve soil health and fertility.

PRODUCTS & MATERIALS

How do I calculate how much topsoil, mulch, or rock I need?

Use this formula: Length (ft) x Width (ft) x Depth (inches) divided by 324 = cubic yards needed. For example, covering 500 square feet at 3 inches deep requires: 500 x 3 / 324 = 4.6 cubic yards. We recommend rounding up by 10% to account for settling. Call (604) 735-5333 if you want our team to calculate the right amount for your project.

What type of sand do I need for a patio base?

Use bedding sand (concrete sand) as the top layer under pavers — typically 1 inch deep over a 4–6 inch compacted gravel base. Sechelt sand at Langley Landscape Centre is ideal for this application. For masonry work, concrete sand is the standard choice.

Is there a minimum order for delivery?

Yes, delivery typically requires a minimum order of 1 cubic yard, depending on the material and delivery location. For exact delivery rates and availability in Langley and nearby areas, please contact our team.

Can I pick up landscaping materials myself?

Yes. Customers are welcome to pick up bulk landscaping materials at our yard in Langley using a pickup truck or trailer. Our staff will assist with loading to make the process quick and easy.

What is the difference between clear crush and road mulch?

Clear crush (3/8 or 1/2 inch) is a washed stone with no fine particles — it drains freely and is used for drainage layers, French drains, and decorative coverage. Road mulch (3/4 minus) contains fines and compacts firmly — it is used for driveways, access roads, and construction staging where a hard, stable surface is needed.

What size truck do I need to pick up bulk materials?

What is crusher dust used for?

Crusher dust (5/16 minus) is used as a firm, compacted base under paving stones, flagstone patios, and garden pathways. When wetted and compacted it forms a stable, hard surface. It costs $62 per cubic yard at Langley Landscape Centre.
